We've pulled together helpful websites of both national and local organisations that may be able to help.
We believe that all young people should be given the best opportunities to overcome their adversities, no matter what.

Compass Changing Lives
Compass Changing Lives provides prevention and early intervention emotional wellbeing and mental health support to Children, Young People and Families (CYPFs) across Derby & Derbyshire.
Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health
DFMH offer a range of 1-1 support services for young adults (17.5 to 25 years) based in the High Peak, Chesterfield and Derbyshire Dales.
Derby & Derbyshire Emotional Health & Wellbeing
Derby & Derbyshire Emotional Health and Wellbeing is a portal to a wide range of other services.
Bridge the Gap
Bridge the Gap are a Derby-based non-profit dedicated to supporting children’s mental health through emotional literacy, early intervention, and relationship-focused care.
They provide practical resources, workshops, and one-to-one support to families, schools, and communities.
Stop Hate UK
Stop Hate UK are the leading voice against hate and discrimination, offering the UK’s only free 24-hour helpline for victims of hate crime across all identity strands.
They aim to listen, believe, and support those affected, using their experiences to inform our advocacy, training, and campaigns for lasting social change. Their expanded services now address all forms of hate, promoting a safer, more inclusive society.
The Black Care Experience
The Black Care Experience is an initiative working to ensure that Black children and young people in the UK’s Children’s Social Care System remain connected to their culture, identity, and heritage.
Their mission is to improve care experiences, outcomes, and life chances for those of African, Caribbean, or mixed heritage. By centring lived experience and advocating for meaningful change, The Black Care Experience is helping to shape a more inclusive and empowering care system.
Black Minds Matter
Black Minds Matter UK is a registered charity dedicated to connecting Black individuals and families with free, one-to-one talking therapy, delivered by qualified and accredited Black therapists.
Their network of therapists work in close partnership to challenge stigma and reshape the therapeutic experience for Black communities.
Mental Roots Podcast
The Mental Roots Podcast is a safe space for nuanced conversations on how racial and cultural dynamics impact mental health, with a focus on experiences from the African and Caribbean diaspora since its launch in summer 2020.
Jami
Jami supports and transforms the lives of those in the Jewish community affected by mental illness. They offer expert guidance, emotional support, and help people navigate the complexities of mental health services.
Their support is available to young people, adults, and their families and carers.
Muslim Youth Helpline (MYH)
Muslim Youth Helpline envisions a world where every young person is empowered to overcome life’s challenges and live a purposeful, God-centred life.
Through compassionate, faith-sensitive services, they support the mental wellbeing of youth, guided by Islamic values of integrity, empathy, and non-judgement.
NeuroHub
Neurodiversity drop-in hubs across Derbyshire, which offer support to children, young people, their families and their carers. The hubs led by Derbyshire Autism Service are ran in Derby, Buxton, Chesterfield and Ripley.

Daisy Chain offer a telephone service to enable families to access advice, support and resources. They provide support and services for those who display traits associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing differences, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
National Organisation for FASD
The UK’s leading charity supporting individuals and families affected by Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, offering resources, training, and advocacy to improve awareness, prevention, and care—all grounded in a “no‑shame, no‑blame” approach.
FASD Network UK
FASD Network UK supports families and professionals affected by Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder across northern England, offering training, peer support, and a comprehensive online Resource Centre with free downloadable guides for caregivers, educators, practitioners, and individuals.
Upbeat Communities
Upbeat Communities is a Derby‑based charity supporting refugees and people seeking sanctuary to settle, connect, and rebuild their lives. Through practical help, education, and community‑building activities, they create welcoming spaces where newcomers feel safe, included, and supported.
The Separated Child Foundation
The Separated Child Foundation supports unaccompanied refugee and asylum‑seeking children across the UK by providing essential items, emotional support, and practical help. Their work ensures young people arriving alone are met with safety, dignity, and compassion as they begin rebuilding their lives.
UASC Health
UASC Health offers clear guidance on three key wellbeing areas for unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children: sleep, eating, and maintaining hope. Their practical resources and training materials help professionals understand these challenges and provide sensitive, early support to young people.
Solace
Solace provides gentle, easy‑to‑understand wellbeing resources for refugees and people seeking safety, including short multilingual videos on trauma, stress, and grounding. Their materials offer simple, reassuring emotional support for anyone navigating the asylum journey.
Treetops Hospice
Treetops offer counselling and emotional support to bereaved adults, children and young people residing in Derby City, Erewash or South Derbyshire.
The Laura Centre
The Laura Centre, based in Leicester, provides free therapeutic support to families who have experienced the death of a child, parent or sibling.
Winston's Wish
Winston's Wish are a national charity, who support children and young people (up to 25 years old) offering grief and bereavement support, alongside proving advice and support for parents, carers and professionals.
Space 4 U
Space 4 U is an Action for Children service, that welcomes referrals from anyone, for children aged 5 to 18 from all parts of Derbyshire who are affected by someone else's substance misuse.
Derby Choices Programme
Delivered by Aquarius, a Midlands charity, Derby Choices Programme supports young people aged 5-18 affected by a parent/carer's alcohol or drug use.
Change Grow Live
Change Grow Live is a Derbyshire Young People's service, offering a free and confidential service for people aged 18 and under, who are using drugs or alcohol and want some support.
Breakout
Breakout is Derby City's drug and alcohol service for young people. Breakout works with people under the age of 18 who would like advice, help and support for their drug or alcohol use.
Safe and Sound
Safe and Sound are tackling child sexual exploitation by providing high quality tailored one-to-one support to victims and young people at risk in Derby and Derbyshire.
Sail
Sail are a Chesterfield based team, working to support survivors of current and historical sexual abuse and incest to young people (14+).
Papyrus
Papyrus are a suicide prevention charity for young people (under 35). They provide a range of help and advice, including a suicide prevention helpline, HOPELINE247.
