This webinar explores harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) in adolescents, helping professionals and carers understand the difference between developmentally expected sexual behaviour, concerning behaviour, and behaviour that may be harmful or abusive. The session considers the complex factors that can contribute to HSB, including trauma, adverse childhood experiences, attachment difficulties, peer relationships, neurodevelopmental needs, exposure to pornography or sexual content, family dynamics, power and control, and emotional regulation.
The session is practical, trauma-informed, and designed for professionals working with adolescents across social care, education, youth justice, fostering, residential care, safeguarding, and mental health services.
