Autumn Adventures - October Half Term Activities in Derby and Derbyshire
From creative workshops to outdoor adventures, there's lots for children and young people to enjoy across Derby and Derbyshire this October half term.
Autumn is a season of change. New school years are underway, routines are becoming established, and the lighter days of summer have given way to cooler weather and darker evenings. For children and young people in care, periods of transition can bring a range of emotions, particularly when familiar routines shift or there is less structure during the school holidays.
October half term offers an opportunity to take a break, try something different, and enjoy positive experiences. Whether it's getting outdoors to explore the autumn colours, taking part in creative activities, learning new skills, or connecting with others, these opportunities can help build confidence, support wellbeing, and create a sense of belonging.
To help make the most of the break, we've put together a selection of activities and events taking place across Derby and Derbyshire this October half term.
