A Supportive Skills‑Building Group for Young People

STEADY is a supportive, skills‑building group for young people who may benefit from a structured space to understand their emotions, feel more grounded, and develop practical tools for everyday challenges. Rooted in psychological approaches that support safety and regulation, the group focuses on strengthening coping skills, confidence, and emotional awareness - without asking young people to share personal stories.

What Does STEADY Offer?

STEADY is designed for young people who may experience strong emotions, difficulties with regulation, or moments that feel overwhelming. Through simple, practical activities and psychoeducation, the group helps young people:

  • Strengthen emotional regulation
  • Learn coping strategies for tricky moments
  • Understand thoughts, feelings, and body responses
  • Build a sense of safety, stability, and choice
  • Recognise strengths and grow confidence

The group is non‑disclosure based - young people never have to talk about their past or share personal experiences.

What Will Sessions Look Like?

Each session follows a predictable, steady rhythm to support emotional safety. Young people might:

  • Learn grounding tools such as breathwork, sensory techniques, or movement
  • Explore how thoughts, feelings, and body reactions connect
  • Practise coping skills through structured activities
  • Build awareness of triggers and patterns
  • Reflect on strengths and what helps them feel more in control

Sessions will be calm, supportive, and paced to help young people feel settled and able to take part.
