In Derbyshire and Derby

Change Grow Live offers a free and confidential service offering support and advice for young people in Derbyshire, who are using drugs and alcohol and facing challenges in their daily lives.

Derbyshire Recovery Partnership offers advice, support and treatment to adults in Derbyshire who need help with their drug or alcohol use.

Derby Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service offers advice, support and treatment to adults in Derby City who are looking to make positive changes in their drug or alcohol use.

Derby Family Drug and Alcohol Safeguarding Service offers support to individuals in Derby City wanting to reduce alcohol or drug use and its associated impact on themselves, their families and their communities.  They also offer support to families and partners affected by substance misuse.

Aquarius Derby Choices Programme supports young people in Derby City who are affected by another persons substance use.

Breakout helps young people in Derby City whose drug or alcohol use is worrying them or causing problems.

Children First Derby provide support for families. Families may need support for many reasons and may struggle to cope due to; family breakdown, bereavement, illness, social isolation or child behaviour issues. Trained volunteers offer support to families within their own homes.

Women’s Work provide a lifeline for women and their families who are living in fear, being exploited or being held back from living an independent and healthy life. 

Derbyshire Carers offer a wide range of confidential and independent services, helping you to care for someone who cannot manage at home without help.

Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health are a specialist mental health support service charity with a strong service user focus and high professional standards.

Compass Changing Lives are a free service providing free and confidential support to children and young people with mild to moderate emotional health and wellbeing needs.

Derbyshire & Derbyshire Emotional Well Being is a portal to a wide range of other services.

Daisy Chain offer a telephone service to enable families to access advice, support and resources. They provide support and services for those who display traits associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing differences, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Umbrella support children and young people aged 5 to 30 with any additional needs, including physical, sensory, learning and behavioural disabilities.

First Steps ED work across the Midlands, providing care and support for children and their families, young people and adults affected by eating difficulties and disorder.

The Laura Centre is a professional bereavement service. They have a mixture of qualified counsellors and trained visiting counsellors.

Derbyshire Bereavement Hub this website can provide you with information and links to organisations and services for bereaved people (of all ages) in Derby city and Derbyshire.

Safe and Sound are tackling child sexual exploitation by providing high quality tailored one-to-one support to victims and young people at risk in Derby and Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Information, Advice and Support Service for SEND  provides independent information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers.

Enthusiasm provide dedicated youth work mentors to support a minimum of 60 young people aged 11-18 who are most at risk of exclusion from education, offending and anti-social behaviour.

National services

Drinkaware offer advice and information about the impact of alcohol on individuals, their families and friends.

National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA) offers information, support and advice for children affected by a parents drinking or similar addictive problems.

Mind are a national charity providing help and support to anyone with a mental health problem.

Young Minds provide young people with the tools to look after their mental health.

Kooth is an online community for mental health and wellbeing. 

Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope.

Childline is here to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through. You can talk about anything. Whether it’s something big or small, trained counsellors are here to support you. 

Samaritans Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. Samaritans are there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

National Autistic Society provides help and support to autistic people and their families.

Winston’s Wish provides emotional and practical bereavement support to children, young people and those who care for them.

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. They support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.
