Do you want to have fun while supporting children and young people participate in activities? We have just the role for you! Fun, rewarding, supportive, active, engaging, positively challenging.
We need staff who are fun, passionate and are excited about a challenge.
You will work in a team supporting the children and young people to participate fully in the activities, you are likely to be joining in and having a laugh with us all!
We will offer all the support you need, including training and development. We want you to have a rewarding and worthwhile experience with us.
Bucks Activity Project operates over weekends, evenings and school holidays throughout the year. It’s all about working as part of a team and having fun. We work together to plan and deliver a range of activities, provide safe care and engage with all the children and young people who attend our service.

We have a variety of opportunities available to suit most and flexibility that supports students at university or college!
8 hour annualised contracts - Work Saturday's every weekend throughout the year
Casual contracts - Zero hour contracts working at least one shift every 6 months - ideal for students who come home in the holidays and need to make some cash.
Will I be trained?
You will be trained and supported in all appropriate tasks. Some of these include Safeguarding, First Aid, Moving and Handling and Medication Administration. Many of the skills you need will be learnt as you meet the children and you need to be able to adapt to different ways of working to best meet the needs of each individual

We have support worker roles available on various contracts, including casual hours. You could be working weekends, school holidays or evenings.
Staff need to be aged 18 years and over.
No, the project is very hands on and you will constantly learn from those around you. You will have the opportunity to attend training with us.
Yes - we have casual roles consisting of 0 hour contracts. These are great for people who are at uni or hold full time jobs during the school term. Rather than being committed to hours, you say when you are available and we are able to add you to the rota.

Your main role is to keep the children safe. You need to be engaging with them and encourage them to participate. Some of the children need more support than others and you will be responsible for ensuring that all their needs are met, including personal care, feeding and medication. All work is completed as part of a team so there is always someone available to support if needed.

Bucks Activity Project operates over weekends and school holidays throughout the year. It’s all about working as part of a team and having fun. Planning and delivering a range of activities and helping the staff with the safe care and engagement with children and young people.
We also have volunteers who work in the office, who still get to spend time with the children and young people.
If you want to gain experience working with children and like a lot of fun you would love working with us.
As long as you are 17 or over and are able to commit to working with us for at least 6 months. We have flexible working patterns that can fit around your other commitments.
You will be trained and supported in all appropriate tasks but you wouldn’t be expected to administer medication, be trained in moving and handling, or be responsible for a child or young person, on your own. You will always be joined by a member of staff.
So what do I do now?
You can Register on our volunteers database or if you know someone already involved, ask a member of staff for more details. You’ll be invited along for a chat and once we’ve found out more about you and what you are interested in you will need to apply for security checks (DBS). After that process has happened we will be able to get you started.
