Support for young people living independently
Supporting and equipping young people to develop the skills they need to successfully live independently.
Our Independent Living projects
Worried about the future and living on your own one day? Some young people are more at risk of becoming homeless in the future and we’re here to help you get ready for independence. If you’re aged 16–25 and have experienced any of being in care, substance use issues, domestic abuse (witness or victim) or identify as LGBTQ+, we can support you!
We’ll help you build essential life skills like budgeting, cooking, and understanding your rights as a tenant. It’s all about helping you feel confident, capable, and prepared to manage your own place when the time comes.
Not ready to live on your own but have no alternative? If you’re 17–25, don’t have housing, but need the time to build independence, our Tenant in Training Accommodation could be the right next step for you. This short-term supported housing gives you a safe place to stay while you develop the skills and confidence to move forward.
You’ll complete an assessment, and if accepted, you could stay for around 6 months. During that time, you’ll get regular support to build personal, emotional, and practical skills. Spaces are limited, with priority given to young people with no other housing options and strong engagement with our service.
Worried about losing your home? If you’re under 25 and struggling to manage your tenancy, our Outreach Tenancy Support can help you stay secure and independent. Whether it’s budgeting, paying bills, or dealing with housing issues, we’ll work with you one-to-one to tackle problems early and avoid crisis.
Support is flexible and tailored to your needs, helping you build confidence and stability to keep your home. You can refer yourself or be referred by a landlord or housing provider.
