Our Homelessness projects
Are you 16–25 and have nowhere safe to stay? Nightstop is here for young people who are homeless and need emergency accommodation. We offer a free, safe place to stay for up to 5 nights with a fully trained volunteer host. Run in partnership with UK charity Depaul. We’ll talk with you first to make sure it’s the right fit, then take care of everything, it will include:
- A warm bed, meal, and a shower
- A friendly, welcoming environment with listening support
- Support to plan your next steps
Struggling after arguments at home and now have nowhere to stay? Conflict Mediation could help. If you’re 16–25 and homeless or at risk of it, because of family breakdown, our trained team can support you. We use a proven approach designed to prevent youth homelessness by helping families talk things through in a safe, respectful space.
We’ll work with you and your family to make sure everyone feels heard and help you to build your own plan to improve things at home. If going back isn’t possible or safe, we’ll support you in finding other options that are right for you.
Ready to live on your own? Some young people facing homelessness already have the skills to live independently. If that’s you, we can help you take the next step. Through around three one-to-one sessions, we’ll support you in finding a private rental or house share that suits your needs.
We’ll help you:
- Register with the Guernsey Private Landlords Association
- Sign up with local estate agents
- Practise enquiring about properties
- Search for rentals on social media
- Understand benefits, bills, and budgeting
Need somewhere safe during the day? If you’re homeless, sofa surfing, or don’t feel safe where you’re staying, DayStop is here for you. Open Monday to Friday for three hours a day, it’s a welcoming space where your physical, emotional, and self-care needs can be met.
You’ll find:
- Showers, laundry, food, and self-care items
- Friendly staff offering support
- Help searching for jobs or housing
- Guidance on benefits, education, and training
Struggling after experiencing homelessness? If you’re aged 18–25 and have been affected by homelessness, Moving On offers free counselling sessions to help you process what you’ve been through. Being homeless, or close to it, can leave a lasting impact and talking to someone can really help.
Sessions are with qualified and registered counsellors and can take place either in their private practice or in one of our spaces. Everything is confidential and fully funded. We currently work with Sea Change in You Counselling, Light House Counselling, With Grace Counselling, and Adam Farish Therapy.
