Support for young people leaving care
Supporting care experienced young people to develop the resilience and skills needed for motivation, work & independence.
Whilst priority for these projects is given to young people who are care experienced, where capacity allows, we will also support young people who have historically been on the child protection register or have been adopted.

Are you thinking about entering the world of work — or wondering what’s holding you back? Motivated Futures is a series of sessions delivered by Action for Children, designed to explore your ambivalence or motivations to enter work, education, or training.
Using motivational interviewing, theory of change, and cost-benefit activities, the sessions support you to reflect on your current mindset and build motivation for change.
By attending a series of one-to-one sessions, you’ll explore what matters to you, what’s getting in the way, and what steps could move you forward.
You’ll learn how to:
- Explore your thoughts and feelings about work, education, or training
- Strengthen your motivation through guided reflection and practical tools
- Build a clearer sense of direction and identify your next steps
Build resilience for the future! Resilient Futures is a programme created by Bounce Forward and delivered by Action for Children. It’s designed for young people aged 16–25 who want to build confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of self.
Over 6 to 8 one-to-one or small group sessions, you’ll explore how your thoughts and beliefs shape how you see yourself, your learning, and your future.
You’ll learn how to:
- Strengthen your sense of self
- Build belief in your abilities and manage setbacks
- Recognise your strengths and show your best self
Want to understand more about yourself? Working with Leaders Consultancy, we offer care experienced young people the opportunity to take in psychometric testing and conflict surveys so young people are able to develop a deeper understand of themselves, their strengths, motivations and how they may work others.
