Find out more about Dr Laura Bennett

Hi, I’m Laura!
I’m a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) with 20 years’ experience of working with children and young people and their families within the NHS, the charity sector and privately.
Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009 I have worked for a range of NHS services including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Learning Disability Services and Psychology Services for Children in Care. Since 2022 I have run a private practice specialising in support to children with attachment need and complex trauma, Oasis Psychology.
As an independent practitioner I offer a clinic providing 1:1 therapeutic services and parenting support as well as providing, consultation, supervision and reflective practice to professionals. I also offer training and workshops on a range of subjects including challenging behaviours, attachment needs, the impact of trauma on children and parenting.
I have been running workshops for Action for Children since 2018 and enjoy the opportunity to help parents make sense of their children’s behaviour and find strategies to improve their parenting experience.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my children, I’m learning to play tennis and love snuggling up with a good book.
