Dorset Nightstop
Emergency accommodation for young people in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset experiencing homelessness
Dorset Nightstop
Dorset Nightstop provides safe, secure emergency accommodation for young people aged 16-25 in Dorset and 18-25 in Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
How does Nightstop work?
We have a network of fully trained volunteer hosts across BCP and Dorset who can provide a spare room within their home for a young person experiencing homelessness on a night-by-night basis to provide short term relief until they can move into longer term accommodation.
A young person accessing Nightstop can expect:
- A safe and secure bed for the night in their own room
- An evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch
- Washing facilities
- A listening ear or headspace, whichever they prefer
- A friendly and free service
- Breathing space while helped to get any support needed and move towards finding more permanent accommodation
One Nightstop service user said:
“They treated me very well and they were very welcoming. I was given food and refreshments and my clothes were washed.”
