Commission us

To Empower Communities to Support Early Brain Development

Join us in our vision to be part of a movement that brings Baby Brain information to everyone who meets parents and carers. We believe that by fostering a common language and shared understanding of what the youngest children need for their social and emotional development, we can create lasting change in communities.

Building Babies’ Brains ‘Pass It On (PIO)‘ approach supports trusted messengers (champions) to build confidence, extend their knowledge and pass it on. We like to think of it as planting a seed or a whisper in the ear - a subtle, empathetic, kind approach that seeks to come alongside parents and carers in a non-expert and empathic way.

Commissioning Building Babies Brains

By commissioning us, you’re investing in:

  • Community empowerment through accessible, evidence-informed knowledge.
  • Training and support for champions who can share Baby Brain insights in everyday conversations.
  • A ripple effect that strengthens early relationships and emotional wellbeing from the very start.

Building Babies Brains is:

Evidence-Based
Our approach is grounded in the latest research and best practice. We continuously evaluate and adapt to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

Scalable & Sustainable
Whether you're commissioning locally or regionally, our model is flexible, scalable, and built for long-term sustainability. Train champions and facilitators so the approach can remain live in your community

You will have staff / volunteers in your community who have gained knowledge, confidence and tools to share information with parents and carers about baby brain development, the impact of stress, what babies need from them in a kind, non-judgemental, alongside way.

From evaluation we know:

  • Champions confidence increased by 55% from their original score.
  • Champions knowledge of relational tools increased by 126% from their original score
  • Their awareness of being a trusted messenger increased by 69% from their original score

Helen Hallam, Project Manager from Torbay Family Hubs says - Building Babies’ Brains is needed because it bridges the gap between science and everyday parenting. It empowers communities with the knowledge and confidence to support babies’ development from the very start—reaching families who might otherwise be missed. The ‘Pass It On’ model works because it’s built on trust, relationships, and real-life conversations—making early brain development everyone’s business

CIC Director from Devon says

"It has transformed the way I deliver baby massage, where as before I just focussed on the strokes I can now say more from that evidence base about what their babies are getting from the interactions and how that is supporting their brain development".

The training is intended for anyone who is interested in sharing messages about baby brain development in their community. We call these learners ’Champions’.

A real strength of Building Babies’ Brains is the wide variety of people who join us and contribute their passion and understanding about what babies and parents need. We all learn from each other during the workshops which are led by two facilitators. This creates a rich and diverse forum for discussing evidence-based themes raised in the workshop sessions.

Building Babies’ Brains has an emphasis on the local community. The messages are most effective when delivered in relationship by those who are trusted.

Train Facilitators

This approach is easy to scale so you can reach the tipping point in your community and maintain sustainability over the years by having facilitators in your community. We do this by providing high quality training for champions, and the option to purchase a train trainer package.

Cost is on request as we can provide flexibility in delivery and adapt the focus of reflection to individual community / organisations training needs while maintaining core content.
