We believe every child deserves a safe, happy start in life—and that supporting them is everyone’s responsibility.
Building Babies Brains - Pass it on
Developed in 2018 as a response to a reduction of universal services, Building Babies Brains has trained more than 400 champions from across Devon, Torbay, Plymouth, Bath and Wales. These trusted messengers work in family hubs and across community services including toddler groups, church groups and CIC organisations, helping families give babies and infants the best start.
In 2025, we’re excited to bring Building Babies’ Brains to Spring Nursery staff across the UK.
To keep the programme growing, we’ve also trained over 50 facilitators. These local leaders will help even more communities benefit from Building Babies’ Brains.
How it works?
The 'Pass It On' approach is rooted in the Diffusion of Innovation theory. We build champions knowledge and confidence to share messages through everyday opportunities. These simple interactions, spark a ripple effect—spreading understanding about how loving interactions, play, and emotional connection shape a child’s future and show it really does take a village to raise a child.
