Meet the Team

Our approach was developed by experts in childhood development.

Building Babies’ Brains: Growing Together

Building Babies’ Brains was created by Georgie, Elaine and Anna at Action for Children. They worked closely with experts like Verity Hyde (speech and language therapist), Sallie Horner (Video Interaction Guidance specialist and trainer), and Dr Amanda Lucas (Director of Babygro). Together, they made sure the approach is practical, caring and based on real expertise.

Meet the Team

Georgie Marks

Georgie Marks – Service Lead

As part of the team that designed Building Babies Brains, Georgie believes that an understanding of the importance of the earliest days our child's life is all our business. She has managed children's centres, worked supporting young parents and holds a Master of Social and Community Development. She is passionate about the fostering the links between communities and organisations, believing that joined up relationships here can enhance approaches that support children's and parent’s well-being.

Anna Adcock

Anna Adcock – Programme Lead
Anna is on of the co-designers of this approach since its inception in 2018 and is passionate about making the science of early brain development accessible to everyone. With a background as a Solihull Approach facilitator, Thrive practitioner, and Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) practitioner, she brings a wealth of experience in supporting communities to understand and respond to what babies and families need in the first 1001 days. Anna believes deeply in the power of human connection and the idea that it truly takes a village to grow a child.
