How we can support you

Across our Family Hubs, we run groups and programmes to help every family in Plymouth thrive.

Home Education Group

A session for children and families who are home educated for support.

Special Guardianship Support Group

A new team has been created to support Special Guardians and Kinship Carers in Plymouth. If you are a Special Guardian or a Kinship Carer, come along and have a chat! Children welcome. Run by Plymouth City Council’s new Special Guardianship Support Team.

Adult relationships

The Hubs can provide advice and support through one-to-one support and groups for advice around healthy relationships and domestic abuse.

We can support you if you are fleeing domestic abuse and need support, we can support you with safety planning and get you in touch with the right agencies. Please contact reception on 01752 686750 for more information.

Our groups are friendly and inclusive spaces for parents to make friends and get help. If you're not sure a group is right for you, get in touch with us. The groups take place at our Manor Street and Green Ark locations.

Family and Baby Project

Our FAB trained workers visit Derriford Hospital’s Neonatal and Transitional Care wards every Wednesday, offering support to parents and families experiencing the birth of a premature or poorly baby/babies.

At this sometimes difficult and challenging time we are able to offer parents emotional, practical and financial support, a friendly chat, and signposting to relevant agencies and local Family Hubs where appropriate.

Perinatal Mental Health Support Group

Peer support can be incredibly useful on its own, if you’re noticing low mood, anxieties or other mental health symptoms postnatally. We offer support from birth up to the age of 18 months, or if this is your second/third + child you can attend antenatally alongside your child. It may be that you’ve noticed some low mood after baby has been born, or that the ‘baby blues’ are not shifting. You can also use this groups alongside other therapies, or as a step down.

The service is by self-referral, so please email us with your name, age of your baby. We will then send you a self-referral form to gather some basic information.
