Adventure Playgrounds:
Thomley is a hugely popular venue, located in the north of the county (Worminghall, near Thame) which is accessible to all children. The purpose built specialist adventure playground offers a host of activities, including a large outdoor area with wheelchair accessible swings, roundabout, wooden castle, and zip wire. Thomley has a number of purpose built bikes and go-karts to enable children of different abilities to have fun outdoors. Inside there is a soft play area, a sensory room, music room, supervised themed art and crafts, and a teenage room for our young people. The Thomley staff have knowledge and expertise in the field of disability, and carefully plan and coordinate sessions to cater for all children. This venue has large accessible toilets, including a ceiling hoist. The venue has secure external boundaries.

The venue has accessible changing facilities, and access to a portable hoist. The creative staff team are able to make most activities accessible for all abilities.
Over the warmer months we visit Go Ape at Wendover woods, and Go Ape Black Country Park, in Wexham. Both are a great day out for children and young people who are taller than 1.4m, and aged over 10. The children (and staff!) enjoy spending time in the treetops, den building and completing trials. This activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Skirmish is a very popular activity, particularly in the warmer months. The venue is located in Wycombe, in a large woodland area. Skirmish laser tag encourages children to work in teams to overcome objectives and missions in a purpose built environment. This activity is particularly suitable for young people who are active and enjoy partaking in a challenge. Unfortunately, this is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Popular out and about activities
We frequently visit our local pool in Aylesbury (Aqua Vale) and pools in Wycombe. Aqua Vale features a large children’s leisure pool with fun water features includes slides and a lazy river. Our staff support the children directly in the water to keep them safe during their visit. The venues have very good facilities for wheelchair users and large accessible changing rooms.
We often visit local cinemas, including Odeon Cinema, Aylesbury, and Cineworld, High Wycombe. The children are given the option of different films to watch and this activity is always accessible for wheelchair users
Bowling is a popular activity for our children and young people, both in Aylesbury and Wycombe. Our children enjoying playing a couple of games, socialising with others and then going to get food afterwards!
Rush is a large indoor trampoline park located in High Wycombe and is a popular activity throughout the year, particularly suitable for active young people who love to run around! Rush offers 2 hour bounce sessions allowing us access to a range of trampolines and a soft play area.

Farm trips
We regularly visit local farms throughout the year and these activities are popular with our young children who love the animals!
Hogshaw farm, Aylesbury, has plenty of space for the children to explore with a variety of animals including some rare breeds and a pets corner. There is also an outdoor play area perfect for the warmer months and an indoor soft play for those colder winter days.
Odds farm has plenty of space for children to explore and activities for them to enjoy. With a variety of animals, with opportunity to get up close, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas and Tractor rides around the site!
Fun Days
Our fun days are a very popular option for families, particularly for families who have primary school age children. We provide a day packed full of sports activities, arts and crafts, various toys and board games, baking activities and much more. We also hire a children’s entertainer during the afternoon sessions. Some of our fun days have access to a fun swim session, or bouncy castle to keep the children busy and active. Siblings can also come along to the fun days, providing we have enough space on the day. Our fun days are accessible for children who use a wheelchair, we provide mobile hoists, and/or ceiling hosts to ensure all children can access the activities. We deliver fun days at venues around the county.
Family trips
We provide opportunities for families to enjoy a coach trip out to a tourist attraction in the Buckinghamshire and surrounding area. We provide collection and drop off points for the coach in Aylesbury, Chesham, and Wycombe. We offer families support workers to help them throughout the day. In the past we have visited London museums, zoo’s, theme parks, wildlife centres, and much more.
